Lady Iris has Smoothed her Skirts

And so I continue to blather on about the flowers in my garden... Behold! The latest bulbs to bloom...
And here Lady Iris has finally smoothed her skirts... But just one thing about Lady Iris -- she's actually a bearded iris and so that would make her a Bearded Lady. If you don't mind, please keep quiet about this -- she's very sensitive about her hirsute condition and suffers deeply from embarrassment.

Once Lady Iris has properly attired herself (and attended to her facial hair) she is off to the ball. Here you can see the King & Queen of Flowers. They hold court over the blossoming dancers in Little Ida's Flowers (this illustration is, of course, by Arthur Szyk.)
