An Announcement

Dearest all --

I have an announcement to make.  My fingers tremble and my heart beats madly
from excitement, anticipation, joy and a little bit of fear as I type this...

This has been brewing for a year now..

It's been exciting and difficult to keep a secret, but I can finally announce that...

In the January 2013 Hawthorn Press will be releasing a book on creating peg dolls... written by... me!

The book will have instructions & patterns for creating a good number of the dolls you've seen on my blog plus many new dolls I've created.  Please stay tuned... I'll be keeping you posted with more details about in-person signing-events, how to arrange for me to sign your books if you cannot make it to a signing-event, plus a blog-tour and give-aways to celebrate the release.

It's going to be a beautiful book (192 pages of peg-doll-love), and worth the wait, I hope!  Are you as excited as I am?

  16. Hurrah Hurrah Hurrah. Bang the drums, trumpets bells and whistles galore. Oh yes and lots of rainbow coloured balloons to be released especially for wee Bloom who has been such a good boy letting Mama think/write. And Big Bloom what a wonderful helpful boy road testing the creations as they leap off the bench. Mr Bloom you are so kind to tolerate absent mindedness of Ms Bloom while she steers her creative energy to fruition. I'll join the queue now as it should be a long one before long. Big big big hug and a smoother of kisses from all of us here, well maybe not the fish! Well done mon cherie. How are you going to celebrate? love Clare Ross Huon Thea xxxx

    1. Oh, Clare, you are utterly delightful in your enthusiasm (and I'll even take those kisses from the guppies!) Yes, indeed... this is all thanks to my wee Bloom and his long afternoon sleeps, the kind company of my little Mr. as I painted away the afternoons, and the patience of my Mr. through the general craziness during the months (and months and months) we worked so hard!

    1. Thank you my friend! I've seen layouts and proofs but also can't wait to see the real thing. Perhaps when I hold a copy of the book in my hands I will be able to stop pinching myself for reassurance that this isn't just a a happy little dream...

  20. Dear Margaret,
    Congratulations.
I will certainly be looking for it. I love making peg dolls.
BTW where do you buy your dolls in Australia. I find them difficult to get and I have yet to find those sweet little ones like on the cover of your book
