Some More Little Angel Inspiration

Every Blade of Grass has its angel that bends over it
and whispers, "Grow, grow."
-- The Talmud

Just for fun... a few more ideas and inspirations for the little angel swap...  I got an idea for creating this lavender angel sachet from a tutorial on Anna Branford's blog here.

The bright wings and smiles on these angels make me happy -- they were created by Joanie of the blog Nini Makes.

And finally, a few more peg dolls, the design of which fall into the category of "What was I thinking?" My entire kitchen is now coated with a fine dusting of glitter (as is my baby, my 8-year-old and also probably the cat.)

Sign ups are open, won't you join me for a little angel swap?

P.S.  In my past swaps I've set up swap-groups for children.  So far I've had only one person mention that her 8-year old daughter is interested.  Does anyone else have a child (or children) who might be interested in swapping, too?

Sign-ups for this swap are now closed.

  3. I love your idea of a kids' swap! My kids are always asking if they can join in the swaps that I've participated in. They are 9, 6 and 4. We would join for sure. : ) Such a great idea!!!

  4. My friend's husband calls glitter "the herpes of the craft world". It's kinda gross and then you realise it's right, and more than a bit funny. It gives me a giggle each time I realise I've found some glitter from a project we did a few years ago.

  6. Oh, yes, Shannon, dear... at my house I have a table which is "a fine place for lots of glitter," and a chair (or two) which is "a fine place for lots of glitter," a floor which is "a fine place for lots of glitter," a sink which is "a fine place for lots of glitter" and a kitchen counter-top which is a fine place for lots of glitter!"

  8. Brilliant! Looks like it's going to be a very fun swap.

PS, I use to ban glitter from house and classroom until I figured out a large tray would keep it mostly under control. I bought kitty litter trays to use as glitter stations and the children were only able to use the glitter inside the tray – works brilliantly. I don't even own a cat :)

  10. Thank you for sharing the beautiful quote from the Talmud, and lovely post. Please do make more peg angels--we are forever covered in glitter here, for moons and seasons after it has been put away and tidied up :) Would you possibly post an angel tutorial--I don't think I saw one. I have a seven year-old who would LOVE to do the kid swap as well. Thanks! bedelberg@yahoo.com
