Hello friends! Today I have a wonderful surprise for
you. To start off your winter holiday
with some extra angel-sparkle, Lenka Vodicka-Peredes, author of Forest Fairy
Crafts, and I are teaming up for a tandem
give-away. But before we get to the
give-away, please let me tell you about Lenka’s book.
Forest Fairy Crafts, C&T Publishing, 2013 |
Once I got started, it was fun to step out of my
usual craft mode and try something new (I was utterly charmed by the fairy hat shop, dress shop and hair studio!) It was also wonderful to watch my 10 year old son design and customize
his own wizard and warlock figures. If you get your hands on a copy of this
book, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Now for the information about our giveaways… Here on my blog, I will be choosing randomly to give away this sparkling winter angel created by Lenka, while over at Lenka’s blog, she will be giving away a tiny pegdoll angel-ornament which I have created!
To enter the giveaway for Lenka’s angel, just leave a comment below this post, and if you wish, please tell me about your favorite holiday ornament (mine is the little blue fellow you can see here in this post -- he lives tucked in my bookshelf to bring light all through the year because I cannot bear to put him away.) Also, please be sure your comment is linked to an email address so I can get in touch if you win. (It’s as easy as that…)
Comments for the giveaway will close Monday
December 9th at 12:00 noon, Pacific Standard Time. A winner will be
chosen via random drawing and announced at that time.
If you’d like to see the angel I’ve created and have
an opportunity to win it, please visit Lenka’s blog Forest Fairy Crafts.

My favorite ornament is a little fairy popping out of an acorn cap and she has pinecone pieces for wings. She is very tiny and goes on the upper part of the tree.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this little fairy. Love both your books.
That tiny angel ornament sounds darling... I'd love to see a photo!

I think these forest fairies could create some very fun mischief given the right circumstances and encouragement.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite ornament was a candy striped ribbon folding back and forth with an elf on the side poised with a brush and paint can to continue his work. The candy, elf and paint created something magical I can still feel just picturing it.
that sounds utterly magical indeed!

When I was growing up, my favorite ornaments were the beaded bells we hung on our tree. Now that I am older, I favor the traditional German wooden ornaments handed down to me from my parents.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your giveaways!
Wow! My kids have your book Margaret and we love it! They have made 7 or 8 little peg dolls from it. I spent a couple of hours online yesterday, researching what craft book to get them for Christmas. I wanted something similar to yours, and can you believe it, this is the one I ordered! I wish I'd waited until I read this blog post, I could have saved myself all that time! At least I know I made a good choice.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know about this book! My daughter and I would love to make these together. I'll definitely pick up this one. I don't have a fave ornament, but maybe I can make one from this book! Thanks so much for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those angels!! My favorite ornament is my little sewing machine! Evin5 at aol dot com
ReplyDelete...precious, adorable, magical.....I could go on and on! Ordering the book today....many thanks.
ReplyDeleteKathleen
so cute! I love the ornaments my kids made when they were little.
ReplyDeleteClare from Australia says they are so adorable. Hope the book will be released here soon. I think the wayout hippie fairies with the stripey leggings, hairdos to die for and colourful fluffy skirts are the best. I know a not so little person (anymore) who would think so too. Keep up the great work girlies.

DeleteOh they are so delightful! So happy to have found your blog! My favorite ornament is an egg that has been cut in half lengthwise and has a little scene inside. It's very fancy, and was my grandmothers. Brings joy whenever I see it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteSo my friend gave me a great ornament tradition idea that we're starting this year. We are going to make an angel for every person we love who has passed away…the holidays can be a sort of sad season when you are missing the people who meant the most to you, so finding a way to bring them in and remember them in a loving and positive way is my goal this holiday season. xo maureen
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool fairy! Hand made ornaments are the best. My favorite ornament is a homemade star made with extra extra glue and glitter.

Beautiful fairy. My favorite ornament is one given to me by my brother when we were kids ( over 40 yrs ago) made from a thread spool (when they were wood) and glitter, paint and ribbon. Not sure what it is but that was never important. My baby brother will be 50 soon. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy what a beautiful fairy! I love your creations. My favourite ornament is a pair of little gold birds, back from the Christmas tree when I was little. A little old now (wink) but I love them.
ReplyDeleteA little Santa made of a curl of cedar, a bit of wool and a red felt hat.

My favorite ornament is Our First Christmas Together Precious Moments.
