Entrancing. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome Amanda! Haven't heard from you in ages... I hope you and yours are well.xo
Lovely! Love seeing the process.
Wasn't this mesmerizing? Gives me new appreciation for kokeshi dolls (which I already adore).
Thanks Lorraine! Best wishes to you for a good year in 2016.
That is so cool to watch. I love making peg dolls and fairy dolls, but I stink at face painting. He makes it looks so simple. Everything in the vicinity would be black if I were wielding that paint brush. I read Sadako with my students and she receives a Kokeshi doll so we made them. We did a balloon in a toilet paper roll, covered it with brown paper towel. Ummm, they drew a lot of attention from the adults in the building when they were drying. They created tiny patterns on colored paper for the kimono, and when the head was painted, they were so sweet.
Face painting is not easy. I've painted hundreds of them, but still sometimes I'm not quite up to it and draw faces with a pencil instead! That's a funny story about the kokeshi project... Peg dolls would make really nice kokeshi, wouldn't they?! Especially this size http://www.caseyswood.com/shoppingcart/zen-cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=185_368&products_id=2275&zenid=s6ic6blh70nk669g44vpe89nd2Best wishes to you and yours in the new year!xo

Like the man in the video. for me,it's important to show to my children we can make beautiful things with no lots of things. Sorry, I think it's difficult to meaning what I want to say but French are very bad in English ...Have a good day et merci pour les rêves que vous nous offrez.christineh
Ah! You are also a mother of two boys (my older is also 12, and my little is 5).Je vous comprends parfaitement et je vous remercie pour vos aimables paroles.Vous êtes mieux à la langue anglaise que j'ecris à la langue française. J'étudié la langue française depuis 6 ans , quand je étais très jeune (âge 12-18 ans). And I also use google-translate to help translate my words!!I hope you have a good day, too --mb
