I just love this. I have always loved the first day of school, and aside from the times I've been on maternity leave, I've had the same feelings of anticipation, optimism, and excitement as a teacher as I did when I was a student. The cool air, the new shoes, the lunch bag packed, the smell of new pencils...some things will never change, I hope. Your children have such a cool walk to school!
