Zypalongs (and a give-away!)

About three weeks ago I was at the Maker Faire and started chatting with another mom -- then I took a good look at her baby and noticed that he was wearing a pair of charming overalls made of beautiful wide-wale corduroy.  Now, when I see a baby boy in great clothes I sit up and pay attention.  I find it very difficult to find fun, interesting clothing for my boys.  I refuse to dress them in clothing emblazoned with monster-trucks, attack dinosaurs, sports paraphernalia or logos.  Their little bodies are not billboards for advertising toys, movies or clothing manufacturers. Shirts with collars & buttons making them appear to be headed for an office job or an afternoon of golf...  No, thank you.  Anything made from army camouflage fabric?  No way.

So, back to the cutest overalls, ever... I asked the other mom what her little boy was wearing.  She told me that the small, local-to-me company which makes the overalls is Zypalong.

I hurried home and visited their website.  Zypalongs were designed by a mom who got tired of dealing with snaps on her baby's clothing.  The pants, overalls and dresses made by this company are sewn from a soft, stretchy corduroy-type fabric and the garments zip on and off with ease... Plus, the shoulder straps extend an extra 4 inches as needed to accommodate growth. What's not to love?!

And better yet,  here is a coupon code you can use to receive 20% off your purchase on the Zypalong website.  Just type bloom_20 in the space for the the coupon code when you check out. (Note: the coupon code is good through the end of the year, so you can buy a pair of Zipalongs for your baby now and you can buy another pair later!)

Now for the GIVE-AWAY:  Please leave a comment at the end of this post if you would like to win a pair of olive-green Zipalong overalls in a 9 month size... perfect for a baby boy or girl!

And an organic cotton onesie, size 6-12M in a lovely red color they call "Radish."  NOTE:  I must have a way to contact you in order for you to win this give-away.  If you do not have a blogger registration (or registration with another blog hosting service) please feel free to email me with your contact info.

Thank you Carly and Barbara for these generous offers to my readers... and thank you for making such lovely children's clothes!

DRAWN BY RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR, THE WINNER IS: #8,  Lacey of the blog Life as a Schoolhouse.  Congratulations Lacey... I will forward your information to the Zypalong team and you will soon have a nifty new outfit for your baby girl #3!

  3. Yay for a chance to win another Zypalong outfit!! I discovered them at the SF Baby Fair last year and bought a jumper dress for my yet-to-be-born baby girl (she's almost 5 months now). I would love to add more Zypalong to her wardrobe. Great concept, great colors, great fabric and great design!

  5. Your little guy looks adorable in his overalls:) I imagine it must be difficult to find nice boys clothes, every day the little boys come to day care with scary monsters, robots etc! occasionally they come in a plain stripey top and simple shoes and I think 'ahh thats better

  10. Hear Hear! I too am having a really hard time finding clothing that is appropriate and that I like for my son. We were recently gifted, by a very well meaning friend, a bunch of clothing with skulls and military themes, I didn't really know how to respond to her gift. Thank you so much for sharing this link, if you know of others I would appreciate it too, and thanks for the giveaway opportunity I would love to win this set! I recently ordered from Happy Green Bee, one of the founders of Burt's Bee's, they have fun organic clothing and their clearance prices cannot be beat.

  11. Oh these are so very cute. I would LOVE a pair. I have a thing about dungarees (overalls) and I kept all of my Beanie girls dungarees for Finn. AND my favourite colour is red. I'm keeping everything crossed for my little Finnamon Bun. And how adorable is your little man. He's not far behind my wee man is he.

  12. Thanks for the note! i wanted to join the exchange! but we left alaska for the summer and it was right in the middle of packing and moving and way too much going on. i hope to join future exchanges... and i can't get over how cute these overalls are. i've never seen a zipper crotch, but i think it is probably brilliant. I have such a hard time with snap crotches coming unsnapped due to her large cloth diapers. i even sewed the crotch up on some of her overalls to make them work! and having a side zipper to boot... well designed, well designed.
