A Little Birdie Swap Wrap-Up (and a Give-Away!)

I hope the little birdie swap inspired as much lovely birdie creativity in your house as it did in mine...

In my house, Little Mr. B. was inspired to attempt his first sewing project...

The result of his efforts was this precious, pink bird (and to read a sweet little story about his project, you can visit this post here...)  But truly, there was an abundance of inspiration reaching far beyond the confines of my small kitchen and funny family; for proof, there is this photo gallery of projects from the swap, and more photos are still rolling in!

To wrap things up, I am giving away a copy of my newest favorite music CD: You are my Little Bird by Elizabeth Mitchell.  Ten of the seventeen songs on the CD have some reference to birds, so what's not to love about it?  To enter the give away please leave a comment below this post.  In order to be eligible for this give away I MUST have a way to contact you.  Any entry which is not linked to some sort of a profile with a valid email address will not qualify (alternatively, you may email me ahead of time with your contact information or post your email address within your comment.)

Thank you to everyone who participated in the swap (and to everyone else who enjoyed the photos  and emailed me or left kind comments!)  Please stay tuned... I will be announcing another themed swap in mid-November!

ADDENDUM 6/21/11:  By random number generator, #2 was chosen... so the lucky winner for this give away is Shannon who said (referring to the You Tube clip), "I love it! Might have to make myself a pair of those wings and go fly through a window."

P.S.  Thank you to my friend over at Feet on the Ground and Head in the Clouds for pointing me to the You Tube clip below...

  1. My eldest boy, Wilson, stitched a little bird for his dad at Christmas, and even made a little bag to put it in - so sweet when they get into their craft! I have never heard of Elizabeth Mitchell, but I love the song on this video. My Lily has been singing a lot lately (like a little fairy bird) and this CD would be perfect for the school run....

  17. Not joining the giveaway - but I just wanna say I wish I had played along with the swap. Maybe next time. Still - I do want to tell you that the little pink bird has won my heart. I think your son did a bang-up job. Amazing, really. The hardest thing about making small creatures is stuffing a spirit inside and having the face reflect it. And he did it. A rare gift in anyone, much less someone of such tender years. So cudos to the man. And to you for raising him to be who he is.
